It's been more than a couple weeks since I've participated in these fun hops. I visit the blogs, I've just not posted.

So first, we're going to go with Crazy-For-Books Book Blogger Hop. This week it's being hosted by Lori's Reading Corner.

Today's question - Who's the one author you're dying to meet?

It's hard to narrow this down to just one, but if I had to choose (and I do!) I would have to say Steve Berry. I love his books and would love to chat with him about all his travels researching the history he includes in each one.

Today the question is - The magic book fairy pops out of your cereal box and says "You and your favorite character (from a book of course) can switch places!" Who are you going to switch with?

Another hard one because I don't really have a favorite. I think I would switch places with Hermoine Granger. She's smart and a witch. And she gets to hang out with some pretty cool people too.

This weeks question - If you find a book you love, do you hunt down other books by the same author?

Well, of course I do.  Sometimes I'm disappointed, but most of the time if the first book I pick up is one that I enjoyed I will enjoy all the books, although maybe not equally.  A few of my now favorite authors who I found randomly are Steve Berry, Douglas Preston, Kathy Reichs.  I first picked up their books because the titles caught my eye at the library.

This weeks question - What is on your current playlist right now?


How sad, I don't have a playlist.  I rarely listen to music in the car, not that I don't love music - but the car is my quiet time, and sometimes I'll listen to my iTunes randomly if I'm working on the computer. That doesn't happen very often though because I get distracted. If I do listen to music in the car it's either one of my Daughtry CD's or the rock station on the radio.

Friday Book Blog Hops 4.15.11

I'm pretty sure I missed these last week. But I'm back for now so let's do this thing!

This weeks question - "Pick a character from a book you are currently reading or have just finished reading and tell us about him/her."


I just (seriously, like an hour ago) finished reading Dead Weight by Batt Humphreys. There are many real and a few fictional characters in the book, I'm going to tell you about Miss Randy. A Charleston transplant from New Orleans, Miss Randy runs some of the brothels in the city. She is a decent person though, and throughout the book you get to see her compassion. She is also a woman - so she has some cunning and a few tricks up her sleeve. I really ended up liking her a lot. She seemed like a real person - which is the point of good writing, isn't it?

Her question this week - "Do you have anyone that you can discuss books with IRL? Tell us about him/her."


Well, as far as face-to-face there is one - that would be Nicole. Everyone thinks we are sisters, which is cool. And we have pretty similar tastes in books. I lean more to the mystery than she does though. Plus she is willing to branch out a little more than I am. She recommended The Kite Runner to me and I loved that book. I have real life friends I discuss books with - but since we are a military bunch it's not face to face. But mostly, I read the blogs because there are not a lot of readers in my life.

If you could physically put yourself into a book or series... which one would it be and why?

Great question! A hard one too. I would have to say I would like to be in the Little House books. Those were my first favorites and I still think it would be awesome to live in the "pioneer days".  Although, I think I'd rather live in town than out on the homestead working my butt off for 20 hours a day!

Inspired by the inane twitter trend of #100factsaboutme give us five book related silly facts about you.

Wow - another hard one. Let's see what I can think of...

1. I'm obsessed with picking books to read. I have hundreds on my eReader and shelves full but I still have to go the library at least once a week and get some to read from there too. I'll never be able to read all of them.

2. I never read new releases. The hype is too much and I think I'll be disappointed. I usually wait about a year before I read anything 'new'.

3. I don't keep my books. *GASP* If I've bought books, after I read them I donate them to the library.

4. I never reread books. That's why I don't feel obligated to keep them.

5. I always read a cozy mystery (or two!) after reading a big ass book. Yes, even when it's a series and no, I don't know why!

It would also probably cost more than 80 bucks - so I would have to get some as downloads for my Kobo!

who are You the Boy/Girl, instead of You the Blogger?

Well, I'm a married mom of one.  Currently, I'm enrolled in school working towards a degree in Elementary Education.   We are a military family living in South Carolina.  I'm a Mystery/Suspense kind of girl but will read other types of books if the mood strikes me.  I have homeschooled my son in the past and am considering doing it again.  We are a cub scout family.  Like to camp and love the beach.  My other blog, Life on Planet Caddick, is my venting blog where I will pretty much tell it like it is - just like I do in real life!  I hate rude people and being late.  No pets - we used to have three cats, and they were with us for a very long time.  I miss them.  There you go - the abridged version of me!

Friday Book Blog Hops

It's Friday which means Book Blogger Hops

The first one I participated in for the first time last week on my WordPress Blog (which is semi gone now). It's hosted by Crazy-For-Books.

Question for this week: What are you reading now and why are you reading it?

I'm reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (on my Kobo) because I'm a follower and I heard so many good things about it that I had to check it out for myself.  I'm actually enjoying it, I just wish I had more free time to read it.

Question: What is the book you are currently 'pushing'?

Actually anything by Steve Berry.  I love, love, love him.  But if I had to pick just one of his books to actually push it would be The Romanov Prophecy - because Russian History fascinates me and because it's a 'stand alone' book.
