What I thought: This book felt more like a novella. It was 200 (large print) pages of fun! I picked it because I was looking for smallish books from the library - and it ended up not being a bad pick. I would consider it a perfect beach read!

Would I recommend it: Yes. It's not deep, but it's extremely readable.

What did I get from Paperback Swap this week?

Mail Order Murder by Leslie Meier - I believe this is now called Mistletoe Murder. But I went with the original one! Hardcover natch - you know how much I actually detest paperbacks!

Foul Play by Janet Evanovich - I don't know anything about this book. It says 'Originally published under the name Steffie Hall'. It seems like it might be a cozy. At any rate it's the audiobook.

Death Du Jour by Kathy Reichs - The second Temperance Brennan novel. I couldn't find this anywhere in my library system so here it is. I love Kathy Reichs and since I've read a lot of the later novels in this series I figured it was time to see how it all began!

Another Leslie Meier offering. I'm addicted to her - what can I say?

And another Leslie Meier. I have a couple more on the way, but I can't get my hands on one of them. I hope I can hunt it down eventually!

30 Days of Books - Day 3 & An Update

What was the best book you've read in the last 12 months?


Goodness another toughie for me.  I would have to say Wicked Appetite by Janet Evanovich.  I know everyone knows her for the whole Stephanie Plum series, but I read this book in one day.  When you order pizza and tell the boys dishes and laundry can wait - you know it's a good book!

Where I stand on Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - Since I'm reading this on my Kobo I have no idea how many actual pages it has, let alone which page I'm on!  But I can tell you I had some down time (not a ton of homework!) and read for a couple hours and now I'm 85% finished with the book!  Fingers crossed that I can finish it this weekend!  I would just like to say - "I didn't see that coming".  I'll save the rest for my review!
